Lead Pastor

Chris Gravning

Chris is our Lead Pastor at Cross Church. He is married to his wife Bethany and has two daughters, Lily and Riley. Chris graduated from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, TN with a Bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministry and from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC with a Masters of Divinity degree in Christian Ministry. Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, reading, drinking good coffee, watching geeky movies (especially Star Wars) and tv shows, Dallas Cowboys football, Texas Rangers baseball, and hobbies like building Legos, painting miniatures, and flying R/C airplanes. 

Lonnie Coker

Lay Elder

Lonnie is one of our lay-elders at Cross Church. He is married to his wife Cindy and has three grandchildren in their home, Brayden, Aubrey, and Kayden. Lonnie has served in pastoral ministry for many years in northeast North Carolina and has served extensively in the local associations and on various boards and entities of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina. Lonnie also runs a small business and spends much of his time loving and raising his grandchildren and reading. 

Adam Gray

Lay Elder

Adam is one of our lay elders at Cross Church. He is married to his wife Tracy and has 6 sons, 5 daughters, 1 son-in law, and 1 grandchild. He served as a bi-vocational pastor in 3 churches in North Carolina, California, and Alaska while on active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard. Adam retired from the military in 2022 after nearly 27 years of service. He graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor's degree Religion in 2010 and Luther Rice College with a Master’s degree in Christian Apologetics in 2013. Adam enjoys working on his family’s hobby farm, riding his tractor, beekeeping, reading, and spending time with his wife and kids enjoy the many blessings God has given them.
